This a\u00a0<strong>four-month<\/strong>\u00a0entry level paid program offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in journalism and kickstart your career at one of the world\u2019s leading broadcasters.<\/p>\n<p>Are you a person with a disability, a fluent speaker of English\u00a0<strong>and<\/strong>\u00a0any one of these World Service languages; French, Gahuza Swahili, Portuguese, Arabic, Amharic , Tigrinya, Oromo, Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, Tamasheq, Dzarma, Kikuyu, Kalenjin, Spanish, Malagasy or Dholuo?<\/p>\n<p>Requirements<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Aspiring journalists\u00a0 with a disability who are just starting out or at the beginning of their career and are passionate about finding and telling stories for a global audience.<\/li>\n<li>You should be curious about the world and fluent in one of the BBC World Service Languages mentioned above.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Eligibility<\/p>\n<p>To be eligible for this opportunity, you must:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be registered as a person with a disability with the National Council for Persons with Disabilities.<\/li>\n<li>Be aged 18 or over when the scheme\u00a0starts in April 2025.<\/li>\n<li>Be legally allowed to work in Kenya full time<\/li>\n<li>Be fluent in English and one of the languages we have listed in this advert.<\/li>\n<li>Be available from April \u2013 July 2025.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Application Procedure:<\/p>\n<p>Once you begin your application you will need to answer our eligibility questions. \u00a0This will be followed up via email with a series of questions to understand your interest in journalism and creating content. You should be ready to:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Submit a news story idea<\/li>\n<li>Answer a few questions via video recording based on your motivations for applying and your passion for this area.
