The SoCreative Africa learning programme for aspiring and early-stage young African entrepreneurs is focused on entrepreneurship and delivers a collection of free online courses for the next generation of African leaders to support them through their business journey.<\/p>\n<p>The programme is developed to support the British Council\u2019s wider Creative Economy strand, designed to help develop an ecosystem in which young entrepreneurs can thrive.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Programme Modules<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Creative Entrepreneurship<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic: Understanding the Creative Economy (Including what sectors constitute the Creative Economy, the economic, social and cultural value of the Creative Industries) using relevant case studies and data to aid understanding).\n<ul>\n<li>Course 1: Intro to African Creative Economy<\/li>\n<li>Course 2: Bringing Your Idea to Life<\/li>\n<li>Course 3: Finding the Right People<\/li>\n<li>Course 4: Building Your Business<\/li>\n<li>Course 5: Branding and Marketing your Business<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Intermediate: With the basic course as a recommended pre-requisite, the intermediate course will provide additional depth to basic courses and includes the following:\n<ul>\n<li>Course 1: Your Entrepreneurship Strategy<\/li>\n<li>Course 2: Personal and Business Growth Strategies<\/li>\n<li>Course 3: Protecting My Business<\/li>\n<li>Course 4: Finance For Creative Business<\/li>\n<li>Course 5: Building and Leading Teams<\/li>\n<li>Course 6: Raising Capital for My Business<\/li>\n<li>Course 7: Promoting and Pitching My Business<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Social Impact through Creative Entrepreneurship<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Provide participants with an understanding of impact entrepreneurship, social innovation and factors to consider in pivoting enterprises to achieve social impact.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Topic 1: Introduction to \u2018Impact Entrepreneurship\u2019<\/li>\n<li>Topic 2: Introduction to Impact Economy \u2013 balancing profit with impact<\/li>\n<li>Topic 3: Understanding Social Innovation (including Human Centered Design)<\/li>\n<li>Topic 4: Factors to consider in pivoting your enterprise to achieve social impact<\/li>\n<li>Topic 5: Impact Entrepreneurship of the 21st Century: The role of technology<\/li>\n<li>Topic 6: Inclusion, Sustainability and Values and Ethics<\/li>\n<li>Topic 7: Types of financing for Impact Enterprises and how to attract them<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Creative Economy Policy<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This intermediate course provides relevant insight for policy stakeholders in relation to the creative economy.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Topic 1: Refresher on Introduction to Policy Making<\/li>\n<li>Topic 2: Understanding the Creative Economy<\/li>\n<li>Topic 3: The role of creative economy in sustainable development<\/li>\n<li>Topic 4: Approaches to Creative Economy Policy<\/li>\n<li>Topic 5: Steps to consider for the development or strengthening of the creative economy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Upon completing the programme, participants will receive a certificate as evidence of their achievement.
