Three scholarships are offered to support the training and development of the next generation of leaders in global health and strengthen the capacity of health systems and health-related research in Africa.<\/p>\n<p>These highly competitive scholarships are available to applicants intending to study on a one-year, full-time, London-based (face-to-face) MSc programme at the London School of Hygiene &amp; Tropical Medicine (LSHTM).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Scholarship<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Three scholarships are available for the 2026-27 academic year. Each scholarship will cover:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>tuition fees, including any mandatory field trip fees, and<\/li>\n<li>a tax-free stipend (living allowance) of GBP 22,000.00.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To be eligible for these scholarships, applicants must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>be nationals of, and resident in, countries in\u00a0sub-Saharan Africa; and<\/li>\n<li>intend to return to sub-Saharan Africa on completion of their MSc year at LSHTM; and<\/li>\n<li>confirm that you would not be able to pay for the proposed program of study without access to this fund by applying through the online scholarship portal; and<\/li>\n<li>meet LSHTM\u2019s minimum English language requirements by\u00a0Monday 15 June 2026\u00a0<em>Failure to do so may result in any scholarship offer being withdrawn and offered to a reserve candidate instead.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>hold a first degree at either a first or upper second class equivalency level, and<\/li>\n<li>hold an offer of admission for 2026-2027 for one of LSHTM\u2019s London-based intensive MSc programmes of study<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate (in their application documentation) the potential to make significant contributions to public health and\/or health-related research in Africa.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The application process has two steps. To be considered for the funding, applicants must meet all eligibility criteria and complete\u00a0<em>both<\/em>\u00a0steps outlined below by the\u00a0scholarship\u00a0deadline of\u00a016:00 (BST)\u00a0on\u00a0Wednesday 04 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 1:<\/strong> Submit an application for 2026-2027 for a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lshtm.ac.uk\/study\/courses\/masters-degrees\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">London-based MSc programme of study<\/a>, as per instructions under the \u2018How to Apply\u2019 tab on the relevant programme of study page.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 2<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Once you have submitted an application to study you should receive an automated email from the Scholarships team (scholarships@lshtm.ac.uk) providing you with the link to the online scholarships application portal.<\/li>\n<li>This will provide you with a temporary password to use the first time you login (via e-vision), which you should then update.<\/li>\n<li>Search for \u2018GSK Scholarships for Future Health Leaders\u2019 if you wish to apply for this funding and then answer all the questions online.\u00a0Once you are happy with all your responses you can press submit and you should receive a confirmation of receipt email at your contact email address.<\/li>\n<li>The scholarships portal will not be able to accept applications after the deadline stated above.<\/li>\n<li>The Scholarships team will be in touch with applicants in due course.
