The Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF)\u2014Africa\u2019s leading philanthropy focused on empowering African entrepreneurs\u2014is looking for the most innovative business ideas across the African continent. The flagship TEF Entrepreneurship Programme is open to all entrepreneurs across Africa with innovative business ideas or existing businesses not older than five years.<\/p>\n<p>The Programme is a commitment to identify, train, mentor and fund 10,000 young African entrepreneurs. The goal is to create millions of jobs and the revenue required for the sustainable development of the continent, implementing the philosophy of Africapitalism, which positions the private sector as the growth engine for Africa and emphasises the importance of creating social and economic wealth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Selected applicants will receive:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>World-class business management training<\/li>\n<li>Mentorship<\/li>\n<li>$5,000 non-refundable seed capital<\/li>\n<li>Access to key networks and markets<\/li>\n<li>Global Networking Opportunities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Open to all citizens and legal residents of any one of the 54 African countries. The proposed business must be registered and operate in Africa.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants must be 18 years old and must not be considered a minor in their country of residence. There is no upper-limit age restriction.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants can be outstanding African entrepreneurs running existing start-ups with high growth potential and aspiring business owners with transformative ideas.<\/li>\n<li>All businesses must be business ideas or an early-stage company, in the range of 0 to 3 years old.<\/li>\n<li>Your application must focus on ONE business only.<\/li>\n<li>They are particularly looking to grow representation from French, Arabic and Portuguese speakers, as well as female entrepreneurs.<\/li>\n<li>The programme is not open to\u00a0research institutions, faith-based organisations, value adding trading companies, government contractors\u00a0and businesses\u00a0not located in Africa.\u00a0Businesses must not adversely affect the environment, lives and property.
