The Infectious Disease Sciences (IDS) Summer Scholars Internship Program on Infectious Diseases in the Immunocompromised Host is an integral part of the Fred Hutch Cancer Center program\u2019s training mission.<\/p>\n<p>The internship activities include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conducting a hands-on research project with faculty mentors<\/li>\n<li>Opportunity for clinical shadowing at UW Medical Center and Fred Hutch<\/li>\n<li>Laboratory observation and practical experience<\/li>\n<li>Presenting your project to faculty and fellow trainees, at the program\u2019s conclusion<\/li>\n<li>Accessing a wide variety of relevant research conferences, meetings, presentations and\/or symposia, including:\n<ul>\n<li>Affinity Groups on Mathematical Modeling and Infectious Diseases in Immunocompromised Hosts<\/li>\n<li>Antimicrobial Stewardship and Infection Prevention committees<\/li>\n<li>Lab\/group meetings, journal clubs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Paid stipend for interns.<\/li>\n<li>Professional development workshops.<\/li>\n<li>Program sponsored activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicants must be a currently enrolled undergraduate student or first year medical or pharmacy student (MD, PharmD).<\/li>\n<li>They are unable to accept international students.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Required application materials include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Current university transcript (unofficial transcript is acceptable at the time of application)<\/li>\n<li>Curriculum vitae and\/or resume.
