M. Kirby Foundation\u00a0Summer\u00a0Internship\u00a0Program 2026. The\u00a0F. M. Kirby Foundation\u00a0Summer\u00a0Internship\u00a0Program\u00a0is for rising college\u00a0sophomores,\u00a0juniors, and\u00a0seniors who are interested in exploring a career in philanthropy or nonprofit management.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Summer\u00a0Internship can be tailored to the interests and skill sets of the selected intern,\u00a0but will involve interacting with individuals in a broad array of program areas, including health, arts, environment, human services, and education; working in a collaborative, team environment;\u00a0assisting with Foundation communications;\u00a0and working on projects that involve research and require strong writing skills.\u00a0At the conclusion of the\u00a0internship, the intern will have gained a deeper understanding of the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors, valuable work experience, and networking opportunities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify and research new funding opportunities in the Foundation\u2019s broad funding areas<\/li>\n<li>Assist with\u00a0internal and external\u00a0Foundation\u00a0communications, including but not limited to website content, LinkedIn, and board mailings<\/li>\n<li>Attend\u00a0site visits with\u00a0grantee nonprofit\u00a0partners and FMKF\u00a0Program Officers<\/li>\n<li>Proofread and edit reports and grant evaluations<\/li>\n<li>Perform research and data analysis for the Executive Director and other staff<\/li>\n<li>Complete special projects and assignments tailored to the intern\u2019s interest and skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Compensation for the F. M. Kirby Foundation Internship is $23\/hour. A one-time travel stipend will also be provided.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Candidates must have qualified for need-based financial aid in the previous school year and maintain a current GPA of 3.2 or higher.<\/li>\n<li>Students in any major are welcome to apply.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The well-qualified applicant will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have an interest in philanthropy and\/or nonprofit management<\/li>\n<li>Be responsible, punctual, and self-aware<\/li>\n<li>Have strong writing skills<\/li>\n<li>Have excellent research skills<\/li>\n<li>Be a flexible and curious learner<\/li>\n<li>Work well with others<\/li>\n<li>Be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel<\/li>\n<li>Be able to follow directions closely<\/li>\n<li>Be self-motivated<\/li>\n<li>Value high ethical standards and personal integrity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applications will be considered on a rolling basis.
