The Black Founders Network (BFN) Black Career Advancement Program (BCAP) provides tailored employment readiness support to equip Black youth with the necessary skills and knowledge for various career pathways and fill hiring gaps facing the Black-led companies in the ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to helping Black youth build their skills and secure tailored work placements, Black-led companies also benefit from affordable talent through the BCAP hiring grants. Since the BCAP was launched in 2022, 2000+ Black youth have been trained and 120+ work placements have been provided directly. Participants are supported through the BFN job board and BFN talent network.<\/p>\n<p>This program is delivered in partnership with the Federation of Black Canadians and is supported, in part, by the Ministry of Citizenship &amp; Multiculturalism and their Black Youth Action Plan (BYAP) which works towards eliminating systemic, race-based disparities by increasing opportunities for Black youth across the province.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Choose from these 4 high-demand career tracks:\n<ul>\n<li>Software Developer<\/li>\n<li>Digital Marketer<\/li>\n<li>UI\/UX Designer<\/li>\n<li>Tech Sales<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>12 Weeks of Hands-On Learning &amp; Coaching: Practical, project-based training that prepares you for the real world. Includes tailored employment readiness support and training to help you launch and advance your career.<\/li>\n<li>Work Placement with Real Entrepreneurs &amp; Businesses: Build your portfolio while helping actual companies solve real problems.<\/li>\n<li>Mentorship from Industry Experts: You\u2019ll be guided by seasoned Black professionals who\u2019ve been where you are.<\/li>\n<li>Placement Allowance: Access to paid work placements facilitated and funded by BFN.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be between 18 and 35 years old<\/li>\n<li>Identify as Black or of African descent<\/li>\n<li>Be legally authorized to work in Canada<\/li>\n<li>Have basic computer literacy and a strong willingness to learn<\/li>\n<li>Be able to commit 10\u201315 hours per week for the full 12 weeks<\/li>\n<li>Be ready to show up, grow, and build something great<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applications for the 2026 BCAP cohort close on February 23, 2026, at 11:59 PM EST.
