The UNHCR Innovation Fellowship is an annual innovation learning programme for UNHCR\u2019s workforce and members of select partner organizations. The Innovation Fellowship focuses on building the innovation skills and competencies of participants, and supports them to engage with colleagues, partners, and refugees to bring innovative approaches into their operations or divisions.<\/p>\n<p>Over the course of the journey, Innovation Fellows learn and practice innovation methods and tools, embedding these new approaches into their everyday work. They focus on problem solving, ideation, and experimentation to develop innovative solutions to real-life challenges in the field or at headquarters. Fellows are UNHCR\u2019s ambassadors for innovation and lasting positive change both within and outside the organization.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Program Details<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Fellowship involves a full curriculum of real-life assignments, online workshops, webinars, open-house calls, peer-support group sessions,\u00a0and\u00a0engagement\u00a0with alumni (e.g.\u00a0Innovation\u00a0Hours) to\u00a0support Fellows as they work on their independent projects.<\/p>\n<p>To advance these projects, Fellows follow a\u00a0loosely\u00a0scripted\u00a0approach, working their way through\u00a0several\u00a0tasks that guide them through the\u00a0different stages\u00a0of innovation. This process begins with a collaborative approach to narrowing down problems Fellows have\u00a0identified\u00a0and\u00a0possible solutions\u00a0to those problems. Then, each Fellow rapidly tests their ideas, before\u00a0honing in\u00a0on a particularly promising solution. Fellows\u00a0aren\u2019t\u00a0expected to produce a perfect final product from this journey; instead,\u00a0they\u2019re\u00a0expected to go through a process that\u00a0evidences\u00a0their learning and that they can continue with once the Fellowship is over.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Fellowship is open to UNHCR colleagues (whether\u00a0you\u2019re\u00a0based at Headquarters or in Operations, in any region and at any level) and to members of\u00a0partner organizations.\u00a0This includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All UN agencies<\/li>\n<li>NGOs and partner organizations of UN agencies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The application is designed to be both fun and reflective. Applicants are asked to\u00a0submit\u00a0a combination of video and written responses to specific prompts and questions.\u00a0There are no right or wrong answers!\u00a0They are interested in understanding individual motivation, self-reflection, and a willingness to try new things.<\/p>\n<p>Applications will be reviewed by members of the UNHCR Innovation team.
