The Global STEM Accelerators program is an award-winning virtual exchange that tackles gender barriers in STEM and helps young women to become changemakers in their communities.<\/p>\n<p>Over 12 weeks, girls worldwide (ages 15-17.5) engage in a hands-on curriculum\u2014developed with the\u00a0University of Pennsylvania Center for Social Impact Strategy\u00a0(Penn CSIS)\u2014that integrates STEM learning, social impact, and global competence.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Scholars who complete the program earn the Advanced Certificate on Global Competence for Social Impact, awarded by AFS and the University of Pennsylvania Center for Social Impact Strategy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicant must be 15-17.5 years old at the program start date (Birth dates from 1 September, 2008, through 31 May, 2011).<\/li>\n<li>Ability to participate fully online in a program conducted entirely in English.<\/li>\n<li>Interest in STEM, sustainability, and global competencies.<\/li>\n<li>Curiosity and willingness to interact with diverse global peers and explore new cultures.<\/li>\n<li>Have a computer, smartphone or other digital device to access the virtual program content.<\/li>\n<li>Have an integrated webcam and microphone for participation in online dialogue sessions.<\/li>\n<li>Stable internet or wifi connection.<\/li>\n<li>Talented young women from all backgrounds who reflect the diversity of populations around the world, including underrepresented populations and students with high financial need, are encouraged to apply!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The 2026 AFS Global STEM Accelerators virtual program will run from 30 May \u2013 30 August, 2026.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/application.afs.org\/stem\/s\/applynowregister\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Click here to apply<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For more information, visit <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/afs.org\/global-stem\/accelerators\/#afs-nav-application-program-dates\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">AFS Global STEM Accelerators<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text]<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"[vc_column_text css=\"\"] Deadline: April 15, 2026 Applications are open for the AFS Global STEM Accelerators 2026.
