The City of Boston Summer Internship Program invites motivated, service-driven individuals to dive into the fascinating world of municipal government. This is more than just a summer internship, it\u2019s an opportunity to launch your career while making a real difference in the communities where we work, live, and play.<\/p>\n<p>Internships provide hands-on work responsibilities in a variety of City departments. You\u2019ll work on real projects, solve hard problems, and gain valuable feedback along the way.<\/p>\n<p>Here are just a few of the ways summer interns contribute to the City of Boston teams:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Creating presentations, drafting reports and informational materials;<\/li>\n<li>Designing content for social and digital media channels;<\/li>\n<li>Compiling research and analyzing data;<\/li>\n<li>Providing direct assistance to constituents in need;<\/li>\n<li>Supporting and participating in special events and community meetings;<\/li>\n<li>Designing marketing and promotional materials for print and digital use; and<\/li>\n<li>Supporting the department\u2019s administrative functions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This is a full-time, paid internship. Interns work 35 hours per week at $20.00 per hour and are not eligible for employee benefits.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>They seek candidates who meet the following qualifications:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program\u00a0or have 2 \u2013 4 years of post-secondary school work experience;<\/li>\n<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to collaborate with individuals of all backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines; and<\/li>\n<li>A demonstrated interest in serving the community and a willingness to learn and take initiative.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The application form requires you to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create an account on Career Center OR log into a previously created account.<\/li>\n<li>Upload a current resume along with a cover letter responding to the prompt written in the job description.
