Introduced as the Abraham Conservation Awards by Ms. Nancy Abraham in 1995\u2014an environmentalist struck by the dedication and passion for conservation displayed by a national park staff\u2014the awards sought to recognize exemplary individuals and organizations working in the field of conservation.<\/p>\n<p>The award is now recognized as the WWF Nepal Conservation Awards, which seeks to continue this legacy by honoring grassroot conservationists that have made a significant contribution to protect Nepal\u2019s rich biodiversity.<\/p>\n<p>The awards cover a range of themes in conservation and natural resource management and aims to motivate and inspire frontline conservationists. 192 individuals and institutions have been recognized since the inception of the awards.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Categories<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conservation of Biodiversity (Forests, Wildlife, Freshwater, Agrobiodiversity)<\/li>\n<li>Addressing Climate Change<\/li>\n<li>Sustainable Development (Eco-Tourism, Green Infrastructure, Livelihoods, Renewable Energy)<\/li>\n<li>Environmental Education and Youth Leadership<\/li>\n<li>Environmental Crime &amp; Pollution Control<\/li>\n<li>Media and Journalism in Environment Conservation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Awards<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The awardees will receive citations and cash prizes \u2013 Rs. 50,000 for individuals and Rs. 100,000 for organizations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nominations are welcome from Nepali individuals and\/or organizations registered in Nepal and are working in the field of conservation and natural resource management.<\/li>\n<li>The nominations will need to reflect illustrious accomplishments and innovations in the areas of biodiversity conservation, climate change, sustainable development, environmental education and youth leadership, environmental crime &amp; pollution control, and media and journalism in environment conservation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSfX5--SC3pswuIY6JRPxn42OC-bHjQdY1762AUoXUPO8cK2OQ\/viewform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Click here to apply<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For more information, visit <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wwfnepal.org\/get_involved\/conservation_awards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">WWF Nepal Conservation Award<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text]<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"[vc_column_text css=\"\"] Deadline: March 30, 2026 Applications are open for the WWF Nepal Conservation Award 2026.
