The CivicHive Climate Fellowship is a\u00a0four-month intensive fellowship programme\u00a0designed to build the capacity of early-stage civic tech innovators, leaders of fledgling organisations, and climate advocates in Nigeria. The aim is to empower participants with the knowledge, tools, and strategic capacity required to drive campaigns for a just energy transition and climate justice.<\/p>\n<p>Africa is highly vulnerable to climate crises, causing rapid economic and social disruption due to predominantly agricultural economies and limited adaptation capacity. Nigeria faces a dilemma: while oil provides major public funding, continued fossil fuel dependence threatens long-term stability and has caused unremediated environmental damage and livelihood disruption.<\/p>\n<p>Other pressing environmental issues include widespread deforestation and biodiversity loss, pollution from unregulated waste disposal, and desertification, further exacerbating the challenges. The global energy transition is certain, and petro-dependent economies like Nigeria must determine their path. To respond effectively, civil society actors, innovators, and community leaders need the proper knowledge, skills, and networks.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The fellowship provides:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hands-on training and Expert mentorship<\/li>\n<li>Weekly assignments<\/li>\n<li>A capstone project<\/li>\n<li>Seed funding support for promising solutions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applicants to the CivicHive Climate Fellowship must be:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Preferably between\u00a0not more than 35 years old;<\/li>\n<li>Has demonstrated track record in climate change, energy transition, climate justice, environmental protection, or related fields;<\/li>\n<li>Is committed to weekly participation and assignment completion;<\/li>\n<li>Is passionate about strengthening climate accountability, resilience, and justice\u00a0 in Nigeria;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applications open on\u00a0February 23, 2026\u00a0and close on\u00a0March 9, 2026.
