The CFLI is a program designed to support small-scale, high-impact projects in developing countries, which align with Global Affairs Canada\u2019s thematic priority areas for engagement. The program is directed at projects conceived and\u00a0implemented\u00a0predominantly by local partners. Projects are selected and approved by the relevant Canadian embassy\u00a0to\u00a0C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire and Liberia. The CFLI also serves to support\u00a0the\u00a0growth\u00a0and consolidation of civil society.<\/p>\n<p>The majority of CFLI funding is to be directed toward local civil society organizations (including non-governmental organizations) and other institutions working at the local level. Other entities, such as international, intergovernmental, multilateral and regional organizations may be eligible for funding, provided they are working with local partners and on local projects that are consistent with the objectives of the CFLI. Similarly, municipal, regional government institutions may receive funding, provided that their projects are essentially local in nature. The CFLI is always looking\u00a0for\u00a0innovative projects that deliver measurable results.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Grant<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The average CFLI contribution is $20,000\u00a0to $49,000\u00a0Canadian Dollars\u00a0for a cycle.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Eligible recipients include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Local non-governmental, community and not-for-profit organizations,<\/li>\n<li>Local academic institutions working on local projects,\u00a0or<\/li>\n<li>Municipal, regional or national government institutions or agencies of the recipient country working on local projects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To obtain an application form, download the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.international.gc.ca\/world-monde\/assets\/pdfs\/funding-financement\/cfli-fcil\/3160e.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CFLI Project Application for Funding Form<\/a>\u00a0or contact\u00a0<strong>[email\u00a0protected].<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Completed\u00a0applications\u00a0must be submitted via email at\u00a0<strong>[email\u00a0protected].<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>In addition to the completed application form, applicants must also submit your organization\u2019s registration status.<\/li>\n<li>The deadline for submission is March 27,\u00a02026\u00a0at 23:59 (GMT).
