The FINCA Ventures Prize Competition supports rising African entrepreneurs with bold visions, disruptive business models, or new products or technologies that can create meaningful impact for poor and low-income people in Sub-Saharan Africa.<\/p>\n<p>Hosted by FINCA Ventures annually since 2024, the Prize Competition is a \u201cshark tank\u201d style event where entrepreneurs compete for the opportunity to be awarded grant funding of up to $100,000 to further develop their social enterprises. This event brings together early-stage companies and visionary leaders, donors and investors who are passionate about entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prizes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In each category, finalists will receive grant awards of up to $100,000 (depending on 1st, 2nd and 3rd place).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Companies must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have at least one African founder<\/li>\n<li>Be a for-profit organization<\/li>\n<li>Be post-revenue (generating revenue)<\/li>\n<li>Be operational for no more than five years<\/li>\n<li>Be operational in Sub-Saharan Africa<\/li>\n<li>Address issues in\u00a0Fintech for Financial Inclusion\u00a0or\u00a0Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To win a grant award, participants must be willing to travel to San Francisco (with costs covered by FINCA) to present in front of a panel of judges and attend the awards ceremony and reception.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Judging Criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The entries will be judged according to the following criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strength of Entrepreneur &amp; Team<\/li>\n<li>Innovativeness of Solution<\/li>\n<li>Social &amp; Environmental Impact<\/li>\n<li>Market Traction and Financial Sustainability<\/li>\n<li>Strategy for Growth<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/fincaventures.awardsplatform.com\/page\/noEevdyw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Click here to apply<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For more information, visit <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/fincaventures.awardsplatform.com\/page\/noEevdyw\">FINCA Ventures Prize Competition<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text]<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"[vc_column_text css=\"\"] Deadline: April 10, 2026 Applications are open for the FINCA Ventures Prize Competition\u00a02026.
