This prestigious award provides mid-career journalists with an opportunity to receive funds to research, develop, and publish impactful stories that bring underrepresented narratives to light.<\/p>\n<p>The Ikeja Record is a community newspaper that covers the Ikeja area of Lagos state and its environs. They produce original, non-partisan reporting on the politics, business, and culture of their community. Their journalism is guided by the need to provide practical information that can deepen democracy, improve economic and social well being, and spark joy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Award<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Selected applicant will receive a sum of \u20a6500,000.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Open to freelance journalists and those affiliated with media organizations;<\/li>\n<li>Be passionate about telling stories that drive meaningful community engagement;<\/li>\n<li>Journalists are required to submit a story pitch by December 10, 2024, outlining the unique community-focused story they intend to pursue.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Entries will be evaluated on originality, relevance, feasibility, and the potential to amplify the voices of Lagos communities.
