This call welcomes projects aimed at fostering the emergence of dynamic cultural and creative sectors in developing countries, in alignment with the objectives of the 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2010, the IFCD has invested\u00a0<strong>US$13.6 million\u00a0<\/strong>across\u00a0<strong>175 projects<\/strong>\u00a0in\u00a0<strong>77 developing countries<\/strong>. These various initiatives have contributed to developing and implementing cultural policies, strengthening cultural entrepreneurship, facilitating access to new markets for cultural goods and services, and reinforcing the participation and inclusion of populations in cultural life.<\/p>\n<p>Through this 17<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0call for funding requests, UNESCO reaffirms its support to initiatives that translate its normative instruments into concrete actions at the local level. They fund innovative projects with up to US$ 100,000, implemented over a 12\u201324-month period.
