The Dag Hammarskj\u00f6ld Foundation is offering an internship position for active\u00a0master\u00a0level students and recent graduates in peace and conflict, international relations, or other relevant thematic areas\u00a0for the\u00a0fall\u00a0semester of 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The intern will be part of the Foundation\u2019s Sustaining Peace team and will contribute to its work to advance commitments among Member States, international financial institutions, development banks and private sector actors to partner with and mobilise innovative and sustainable resources for inclusive conflict prevention and peacebuilding. As part of this work, the intern will support the Foundation\u2019s work on Investing and Partnering with Youth for Peace (IPYP) \u2014 a multi-stakeholder platform housed at the Foundation aimed at strengthening youth-led peacebuilding through innovative partnerships and resource mobilisation. The intern will also engage with broader thematic areas under the Sustaining Peace programme, including on the Peacebuilding Architecture and other multilateral or UN-related processes.<\/p>\n<p>The position is designed to offer both focus and flexibility, allowing space for the intern to explore their own areas of interest while gaining meaningful exposure to the Foundation\u2019s wider peacebuilding agenda.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support\u00a0the Foundation\u2019s work\u00a0to advance\u00a0peacebuilding financing, including through engagement with development banks\u00a0and\u00a0international financial institutions to explore innovative and blended finance mechanisms.<\/li>\n<li>Support the team in developing toolkits\u00a0for young peacebuilders and private sector actors aimed at strengthening partnerships for peacebuilding.<\/li>\n<li>Support\u00a0continued engagement\u00a0with\u00a0the\u202fSwedish\u202fvideo\u202fgames sector, including through the planning and implementation of game jam-inspired events to explore how peace narratives can be integrated within games.<\/li>\n<li>Support communications\u202fof the Foundation\u2019s Sustaining Peace work, including through blogs, summary\u00a0reports\u00a0and policy briefs, and creating\u202fcontent for IPYP\u2019s\u202fLinkedIn page.<\/li>\n<li>Assist\u00a0with administrative\u202fand logistical\u202ftasks such as note-taking, project\u00a0documentation\u202fand\u202fevent\u202fplanning.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with other teams\u202fat\u202fthe\u202fFoundation and\u202fcontribute to their work as\u00a0required.<\/li>\n<li>Support efforts to\u00a0monitor\u00a0programmatic outputs and outcomes.<\/li>\n<li>Other tasks\u202fas needed\u202fto support the Foundation\u2019s work\u00a0to advance the\u00a0Sustaining Peace\u00a0agenda,\u00a0including\u00a0engagement in the Stockholm Forum on Peace and Development\u00a0and\u00a0other\u00a0dialogues between the UN and regional organisations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Currently completing or recently completed a master\u2019s degree in peace and conflict studies, international relations, development studies, sustainability and corporate social responsibility, or related subjects.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated knowledge on the UN system\u2019s\u2014and that of other international and regional organisations\u2014work to prevent conflicts and build peace, efforts to finance peace efforts and\/or the role of the private sector in supporting peacebuilding and partnering with youth peacebuilders<\/li>\n<li>Some work experience or past internship focused on peacebuilding, sustaining peace or corporate social responsibility is desirable<\/li>\n<li>Excellent working knowledge of English (including ability to produce written materials).
