WHO\/Europe is working with the European Commission, through a contribution agreement, to implement a project entitled \u201cAddressing mental health challenges in the European Union, Iceland and Norway\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>A core focus of the project is to mainstream mental health across the health sector by strengthening training and capacity-building for selected health workers. This includes equipping the public health workforce with evidence-based mental health promotion and prevention interventions, including anti-stigma programmes, and supporting their resilience in times of crisis.<\/p>\n<p>Within this framework, in collaboration with the European Public Health Association (EUPHA), WHO\/Europe is organizing a capacity\u2011building programme to strengthen public health workforce capacity for mental health promotion and prevention.<\/p>\n<p>The programme consists of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A series of interactive webinars spaced over 6 weeks between September and October 2026.<\/li>\n<li>An optional one-day, in-person synthesis conference in November 2026 in Bilbao, Spain.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Cost<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Attendance at the conference is free of charge.\u00a0Participants are expected to organise and cover their own travel and accommodation costs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The programme is designed for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Public health professionals working in policy, practice and research.<\/li>\n<li>Professionals collaborating with mental health services and community<br \/>\nsettings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The first accredited cohort will target 120 professionals working in EU Member States, Iceland and Norway.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applications must include the following documents:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cover letter (maximum 500 words), addressing:\n<ul>\n<li>current role and organization;<\/li>\n<li>how the applicant\u2019s work relates to mental health promotion and\/or prevention;<\/li>\n<li>what the applicant hopes to learn from the programme and how they plan to apply this learning; and<\/li>\n<li>how the applicant intends to share learning with colleagues and\/or their institution.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Curriculum vitae (CV) of maximum 2 pages, submitted in a General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)\u2011compliant format.
