The Global South Fellowship Program aims to support the professional development of early-career researchers from universities in the Global South.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of the scheme is to enable visiting fellows to gain insight into the organisation and conduct of research, training, and administration at the University of Birmingham and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Additionally, it promotes research collaboration, partnership development, and further collaboration with the Global South.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The scheme will provide each visiting fellow with travel expenses of up to \u00a3850 and a monthly stipend of \u00a31,500 for up to three months to help cover living expenses and accommodation.<\/li>\n<li>On campus accommodation can be booked on fellows\u2019 behalf and the cost deducted from the stipend, however there is no guarantee that University accommodation will be available during the fellowship. Further information on private accommodation options and support with organising accommodation is available upon request.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There is no fixed definition of an early-career researcher; the term is relative and varies by discipline and year. However, applicants must have completed a doctorate to be eligible.<\/li>\n<li>They welcome applications in subject areas related to\u00a0education access and equity,\u00a0global health, and\u00a0sustainability and climate action. However, there is some flexibility around this.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The fellowship period is between July 2026 to June 2027.
