This annual award, established in year 2020, recognizes scientific achievements by young scientists living and working in a developing country.<\/p>\n<p>The subject rotates among the following fields of science: physical sciences (including physics and chemistry); astronomy and cosmology; earth sciences; mathematics and Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Life Sciences.\u00a0In\u00a02026\u00a0the award will recognize achievements in\u00a0Astronomy and Cosmology.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Award<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The recipients receive USD $10,000.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eligiblity<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Eligible candidates are\u00a0young scientists (not older than\u00a045 years of age), national of a developing country, who have been living and working in a developing country\u00a0for a minimum of two years immediately prior to their nomination.<\/li>\n<li>Self nominations and nominations from jury members will\u00a0<em>not\u00a0<\/em>be considered.<\/li>\n<li>Fellows of TWAS are\u00a0<em>not\u00a0<\/em>eligible. Individuals who have previously won a TWAS-named Award are not eligible.<\/li>\n<li>The same nominee cannot be nominated for more than one \u2018Fellows of TWAS Awards\u2019 in a given year. The secretariat retains the right to bring to the attention of the relevant nominators that the nomination may be suitable for another award, and the final decision whether or not to shift the nomination will be taken by the nominators themselves.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Nomination<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A nomination is considered complete only if includes all of the following information\/material:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nominator contact details;<\/li>\n<li>Nominee contact details (self nominations are\u00a0not\u00a0accepted) and general information on the nominee, including the country where he\/she has been working and living in the past 2 years;<\/li>\n<li>Authorization from the nominee (i.e. the candidate) to process his\/her personal data for the purposes of his\/her nomination, in conformity to Art. 13 of the Italian Legislative Decree 196\/2003. This authorization can only be submitted through the online platform. The privacy authorization form is available for download in the section \u2018nominee\u2019s personal data\u2019. The form must be filled in and signed by the candidate and then uploaded onto the online platform;<\/li>\n<li>Suggested citation (15-20 words highlighting the nominee\u2019s scientific achievements in Astronomy and Cosmology);<\/li>\n<li>Supporting statement regarding the nominee\u2019s contribution in\u00a0Astronomy and Cosmology. Supporting statements should explain in detail the work performed by the candidate and its significance in the relevant scientific context. Clear reference should be made to the scientific impact of the nominee\u2019s work.
