The role supports the Foundation\u2019s key initiatives \u2013 the Ibrahim Index of African Governance (IIAG) and the Ibrahim Forum Report \u2013 through data analysis, research production, and content dissemination. It is ideal for someone passionate about governance, policy, and development in Africa.<\/p>\n<p>The key responsibilities of the researcher will be:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct desk-based research, including data collection, analysis, and visualisation.<\/li>\n<li>Draft literature reviews and various forms of research pieces from varied sources on numerous topics \u2013 examples include climate, development finance, security, democracy, migration and the rule of law.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the production of reports, briefs, and presentations.<\/li>\n<li>Support the calculation, development and thematic analysis of the IIAG.<\/li>\n<li>Identify potential new data sources and governance indicators.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor relevant media, reports, and events.<\/li>\n<li>Help connect research with MIF\u2019s advocacy priorities.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with dissemination efforts and represent the Foundation at events.<\/li>\n<li>Provide editing, fact-checking, and logistical support as needed (including for the biennial Ibrahim Governance Weekend).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Salary<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The salary will be commensurate with experience and in line with the sector.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicant should possess a postgraduate degree in a relevant field.<\/li>\n<li>2-4 years research or analysis experience (internships count).<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of African governance, development, or public policy.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with data analysis, management, and visualisation.<\/li>\n<li>Proven ability to write, edit and present research findings clearly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Skills &amp; Competencies<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent written and verbal communication in English.<\/li>\n<li>Proficient in Excel and MS Office.
