Since VC University began in 2019, Venture Forward has awarded full scholarships to at least 10% of each cohort. The VC University scholarship program supports aspiring and early-career VCs from underrepresented backgrounds.<\/p>\n<p>The scholarship program offers two tracks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>General Track:\u00a0For aspiring VCs in non-life science sectors (sector-agnostic)<\/li>\n<li>Life Science Scholarship (LSS):\u00a0For aspiring life science VC investors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Scholarship<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Scholarship recipients receive:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Covered course tuition to VC University<\/li>\n<li>Access to supplemental office hours<\/li>\n<li>Access to a dedicated 3-month mentorship program<\/li>\n<li>Public recognition for their award<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must reside in the United States<\/li>\n<li>Must intend \/ be able to remain in the United States<\/li>\n<li>Must currently work as a VC investor \u2013 OR \u2013 actively\u00a0 pursuing a full-time role as VC<\/li>\n<li>Must intend to invest in startups based in the United States<\/li>\n<li>Cannot have previously participated in a VC University program<\/li>\n<li>Cannot be employed by a scholarship sponsor<\/li>\n<li>Must submit an application by the deadline<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Evaluation Criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This scholarship is intended to support candidates who:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Will be active, engaged program participants.<\/li>\n<li>Are actively \/ imminently pursuing a career as a VC investor.<\/li>\n<li>Are part of a group that is underrepresented in venture capital.<\/li>\n<li>Would significantly benefit from a structured introduction and exploration of technical VC concepts and the industry landscape.<\/li>\n<li>Are committed to driving a stronger, more inclusive future for the industry.<\/li>\n<li>Would otherwise find it difficult to participate due to the cost.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>For the LSS Track:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All the criteria listed above.<\/li>\n<li>Intent to pursue a career as a\u00a0<em>life science<\/em>\u00a0VC investor.<\/li>\n<li>Have attained relevant educational\/professional experience (e.g., life science-focused academic degrees).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The application takes 30-45 minutes, depending on how much effort you put into the short-answer questions.
